A few days before the presidential election, the kings and various traditional leaders, concerned about social cohesion in their area of competence, wishing to no longer relive the events of 2010 following the presidential election, took their pilgrim's stick to raise awareness populations.

To this end, several traditional chiefs from the region of Gbêkê with at their head Nanan N'Goran Koffi Il, chief canton Faafouè, under the leadership of the chamber of kings and traditional chiefs of Côte d'Ivoire, met on Monday 05 October in the meeting room of the town hall of Béoumi as noted on site by KOACI. The objective of this meeting relates to the first stage of the awareness tour of traditional leaders in the region of Gbêkê as everywhere else in the country.

"The chamber of kings and traditional leaders of Côte d'Ivoire has matured this idea of raising awareness among the entire population of all regions of Côte d'Ivoire, to advocate the idea of living in peace, of living together and social cohesion. The population must remember that we are all brothers, we must live in peace. Elections are another thing. It is peace first, without peace there is no development. Without peace, there is no security. There should be peace, security, peace of hearts, peace of brothers, peace between us so that we can live together. ” said Nanan N'Goran Koffi Il, on the occasion of this first stage of the awareness tour of traditional leaders throughout the Gbêkê region.

Present at this meeting, the peace ambassador, Euphrasie Kouassi Yao, initiator of the Regional Community for Empowerment and Peace (CREA-Peace), after solicitation from Nanan N'Goran Koffi Il, took pleasure in being alongside traditional leaders during the exchanges. For the minister, “peace is an activity and not a passivity. Many of us must want peace. It goes through dialogue, consensus, love and meditation. ”

Continuing, the special advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of gender, Ms. Euphrasie Kouassi Yao, said that a "campaign called Peace has been launched. Because peace is non-negotiable, women and young people take a stand. We believe in the capacity of women. When women solve a problem, we don't go back on the war. Try with women because they go deep. We are in the countryside, and we want our parents to come to the countryside with us. Everything is negotiable except peace. That the leaders show us the way to peace is a very good initiative, because they are the ones who know it. ”

Finally, at the end of the meeting, the departmental office of the monitoring committee before, during and after the elections, was formed with as honorary president, the prefect of the department of Béoumi, Jules Gouessé.
