The 2013 Awards of Excellence ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in the Plateau on Tuesday 6 August 2013. On this occasion, the President of the Republic, HE Mr. Alassane Ouattara with his wife, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, presented The trophy of the Award of Excellence to each of the 44 laureates, a diploma signed by his hands and an envelope of ten (10) million FCFA. The winners come from various fields of activity, notably from the economic sector, the production sector and the socio-cultural sector. Among other selection criteria discipline and rigor at work, professional performance, innovation and creativity, contribution to employment, etc.

For HE Mr. Alassane Ouattara, the re-institution of the Award of Excellence after its last edition in 1997, is part of "a dynamic human resources management policy and is based on the appropriation of the principles of good governance ".

On the eve of the celebration of the 53 years of Côte d'Ivoire under the seal of excellence, this ceremony constitutes for the Head of State "an opportunity to affirm its will to offer solutions for a Côte d'Ivoire new and excellent ".

This prize of excellence is "an opportunity to celebrate and promote the country's best in all fields". This is to offer young people "models designed around the values ​​of effort, merit and work". In addition, there is talk of "improving the place of Côte d'Ivoire in the competitions of nations and guaranteeing its presence in all areas of globalization" added the Head of State talking about the stakes of the Prize Of excellence.

He invited the winners of the Awards of Excellence to be "standard bearers for youth and ambassadors of youth". The President of the republic is committed to ensuring that no Ivorian is "excluded" from the promotion of excellence, because "the development of Côte d'Ivoire requires the commitment of all".

It should be emphasized that on the instruction of the President of the Republic, the Head of Government, by Order No. 152 / PM / CAB / of 24 April 2013, established the National Committee of the Day of Excellence, which he chairs. This committee was responsible for selecting the winners of the Award of Excellence with the help of a scientific committee and the collaboration of the various ministries. For future editions, the Prime Minister announced more selective criteria and a more festive celebration.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Prime Minister, presidents of institutions, members of the government, personalities of the diplomatic corps, international bodies, etc.
